A Journey of Resilience and Innovation
Nyikadzino’s journey into the beauty industry began under challenging circumstances. Growing up in rural Hurungwe, she faced numerous hardships, including financial struggles and limited access to basic necessities. Her first experience on a bus came after passing her Ordinary Level exams, marking a significant milestone in her life.
After securing a job in Harare, an unexpected layoff became a turning point. Rather than letting this setback define her, she chose to start her own venture. Initially, she focused on selling Indian sweets, but as her community grew, so did her interest in beauty products. Inspired by South African beauty expert Portia M., she dedicated herself to learning the art of creating beauty oils online.
What started with a modest $20 investment has since evolved into a thriving global enterprise. Nyikadzino’s company, Ice & Dee Glowing Store, carries the motto “Hakuna Mukadzi Akashata” (No woman is ugly), reflecting her mission to empower women through beauty and self-expression.
Expansion and Community Impact
From its humble beginnings in 2016 with just two products, the business has grown into a nationwide phenomenon. Today, Ice & Dee Glowing Store operates in multiple cities across Zimbabwe, including Harare, Bulawayo, Kwekwe, Gweru, Mutare, Masvingo, and Beitbridge. In Harare alone, there are three branches located at Margolis Plaza, Harare, and Speke, with a new outlet at Shasha Mall.
The company has expanded beyond Zimbabwe, reaching markets in Tanzania, South Africa, the UK, and Australia. With over ten shops in Zimbabwe and a workforce of more than 60 employees, Nyikadzino has created numerous opportunities for others, particularly women.
Education and Empowerment
Despite the challenges she has faced, Nyikadzino has never stopped learning. She credits her growth to continuous education, which has included studies in nursing, business management, and cosmetology. Her belief in the power of knowledge drives her to inspire others to seize opportunities and pursue their goals.
Her motivation stems from a desire to uplift her family and break the cycle of poverty. “I have always been acutely aware of my impoverished background,” she says. “The drive to create a better future for my family has been my guiding light.”

Faith plays a central role in Nyikadzino’s life. She credits her resilience to her unwavering trust in God, which has guided her through every challenge. Her commitment to giving back is equally strong. She prioritizes women’s empowerment in her business, employing a workforce that is 90% female. Additionally, she engages in charitable initiatives, donating to street children, the elderly, and planning to support local schools in her rural community.

Nyikadzino’s ultimate goal is to see her products available in pharmacies worldwide, emulating the success of established global brands. She remains focused on her vision of making a lasting impact, both in the beauty industry and beyond.
