Tim Malcolm and Elise Benson: A Promising Connection That Never Materialized
During the 90 Day: Hunt for Love Tell All Part 1, former 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days cast member Tim Malcolm revealed that he had feelings for newcomer Elise Benson. Now that the season has concluded, both Tim and Elise have addressed their romantic connection and what transpired after the Tell All.
Before Tim shared his feelings for Elise, the Tell All host Sukanya Krishnan played a behind-the-scenes clip of one of their first interactions. In the clip, Tim asked Elise if her body count was two or three digits (she said two) and if she had ever had an STD (no). When questioned about why he asked such personal questions, Tim admitted, “She likes to bust balls, and I was just busting her balls.” Meanwhile, Elise explained that she thought Tim was trying to make her uncomfortable, noting the shock value of his questions.
Although Tim left the resort alone, he later admitted during the Tell All that he “messed up the most with Elise.” Looking back, Elise shared that her opinion of Tim had changed, which led to his big question. But did they end up dating?
Are Tim and Elise Still Dating?
No, Tim and Elise are not currently dating. According to Elise, their initial connection never developed into a relationship. They never actually went on the date they had planned after the Tell All. On September 3, Elise confirmed on her Instagram Story that she is single, stating, “Carlo and I dated after Tulum, but we did not work out. Tim and I never went on our date after the Tell All. I am single and really enjoying my me first era.”
Tim responded on September 4, writing in an Instagram caption, “Everyone keeps asking me my date with @elisebenson – I stand by what I’ve been saying all along – beautiful soul, she’s a gorgeous girl with a huge heart. She is one of the sweetest friends I made during the hunt for love and has had my back more times than I could ever say, we didn’t get to do it in New York because of time.” He added, “Unless I’m too late, I still intend to take her out, treat her gracefully and respectfully and enjoy a night together.”
Elise responded with a heartfelt comment, saying, “Wait stop this is so sweet [Tim] I’m so lucky to have you in my life, everyone needs a Tim in their life!!” While Elise didn’t directly respond to Tim’s intention to ask her out again, her friend Cortney Reardanz joked, “Invite me to the wedding lol.”
Did Tim and Elise Go on a Date During Hunt for Love?
No, Tim and Elise did not go on a date during their time at the resort on Hunt for Love. During the Tell All, Elise revealed that while Tim believed he was asking her out, he only talked about planning the date without taking any action. At the time, Tim had invested a whole week into his relationship with Elise, until he found out that she had started seeing Carlo.
Tim expressed frustration, saying, “I was just kind of like, ‘Why the f**k didn’t she tell me that?’” According to Tim, Elise’s change of heart hurt him. He added, “Instead of talking to her about it, I was just like, ‘I’m not going to speak to her the rest of the trip,’ like I was five years old and I didn’t.” However, he confessed that he never explicitly asked Elise on a date “the way he did to Mei.”
How Did Tim Ask Elise Out?
After receiving coaching from both Sukanya Krishnan and his ex-fiancée, Veronica, Tim finally asked Elise out during the Tell All Part 1. He told her, “You’re very beautiful. I love your humor, and I love that you can, you know, be asked about your body count and not get mad.” Then came the big question: “Are you free this evening, after we get done with this oh-so-lovely Tell All?”
Elise responded enthusiastically, “I would love to.” Knowing about Tim’s close connection with Tiffany Franco, whom he often calls his “wifey,” Elise jokingly asked, “Tiffany, do we have your permission?” Tiffany approved, but as we now know, their long-awaited date never happened.

During a commercial break, Veronica caught up with Elise and asked, “I need to know if it had not been for my guidance, would you still have gone out with him?” According to Elise, Veronica’s input was a key factor in her decision to say yes, as Tim probably wouldn’t have asked her out otherwise.
Veronica also gave Elise insight into how Tim behaves as a partner, saying, “Once you’ve gone out with him, once he feels more comfortable, he will plan things. He will be so sweet.” She added, “He needs a very confident woman so that he can be… So that he can be masculine.” After confirming that Veronica and Tim had actually had sex, as Elise had “never heard of him having sex with a girl,” she was ready to “give it a shot.”
