Dr. G Madhavan, the Chief, stated that the safe return of NASA astronaut Sunita Williams from her nine-month stay at the International Space Station is a source of great pride for the space industry.

“This marks an important milestone for everyone involved in the space sector. We have accomplished a challenging rescue mission that spanned almost nine months. Although the planning process was extensive and required considerable time, the execution was executed with remarkable precision. On behalf of all, I extend my congratulations to both the NASA crew and SpaceX for their outstanding success. Given her Indian heritage, Sunita Williams’s return visit to India is particularly significant. Her recent interview conducted aboard the spacecraft reveals her robust health and unwavering confidence,” stated Nair to ANI.

Concerning the health issues, he stated, “There is actually no gravity affecting us. This means our circulatory system and how muscles function have entirely changed. Additionally, research shows that bone marrow, crucial for producing white blood cells, can occasionally degrade as well.”

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh conveyed his pride and appreciation for NASA’s Space Crew-9 mission, rejoicing in the successful and secure return of astronaut Sunita Williams along with her colleagues.

On social media platform X, Singh praised the astronauts for their resilience and celebrated their accomplishment as a significant step forward in humanity’s journey into space.

“Excited about the successful landing of NASA’s #Crew9 back on Earth! The team, which includes India’s pride Sunita Williams along with other astronauts, has etched new chapters in the annals of human resilience and determination in space,” Singh posted on X.

The Defence Minister continued by commending Sunita Williams, stating that her voyage stands as a testimony to remarkable fortitude and resolve.

Her extraordinary journey, steadfast commitment, resilience, and indomitable spirit will motivate countless people around the planet,” he remarked. Singh noted that Williams’s comeback was a time for rejoicing not just for those passionate about space exploration but for humanity as a whole.

The Crew-9 mission marked the fourth journey of the Dragon spacecraft known as Freedom, which had earlier been utilized for NASA’s SpaceX Crew-4, Axiom Mission 2, and Axiom Mission 3. Following this latest trip, the craft will be inspected and prepared for upcoming assignments at SpaceX’s facilities in Cape Canaveral. (ANI)
