SWAT Team Responds to South Congress; Two Suspects Apprehended

Two individuals are in police custody following a SWAT operation in South Austin on Thursday evening.

The Austin Police Department (APD) reported that they summoned the SWAT team when attempting to execute a warrant at the Embassy Suites on South Congress Avenue, close to Barton Springs Road, resulted in one suspect taking cover indoors.

Another individual who had first holed up inside also eventually gave themselves up to law enforcement. In the end, all those involved were apprehended by the authorities.

The APD stated that there was no threat to the public.
