“James Gunn Confirms New ‘Wonder Woman’ Film in Development, Sets Stage for Global Epic” (International Edition)

Dhaka, June 11 — In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, DC Studios co-head James Gunn has verified that a fresh Wonder Woman movie is being developed.

“When questioned regarding the legendary character’s comeback to cinema screens, Gunn mentioned it was currently being penned,” he stated.

The forthcoming film signals a new beginning for the character after Gal Gadot portrayed them previously in “Wonder Woman” (2017), “Justice League” (2017), “Wonder Woman 1984” (2020), “Zack Snyder’s Justice League” (2021), and made a cameo in “The Flash” (2023).

Nevertheless, since Gunn and co-chief Peter Safran are leading a complete revamp of the DC Universe, Gadot will not return as the character.

Variety reported that along with the movie, an HBO Max series delving into Wonder Woman’s mythical birthplace of Themyscira is also being developed. When asked about the show, Gunn commented, “It’s progressing slowly, but it is making progress.”

The prospective Wonder Woman film is part of a broader slate of DC projects currently in development. The first film in the new DC Universe, Superman, written and directed by Gunn and starring David Corenswet, is set to premiere in July.

Supergirl: Woman ofTomorrow, helmed by director Craig Gillespie and penned by writer Ana Nogueira, is set to premiere in June 2026 featuring Milly Alcock as the protagonist.

Gunn dropped hints about an additional Superman movie. He stated, “However, can we call this a direct follow-up to Superman?” When asked directly, he replied, “Not necessarily.”

When queried regarding the potential for a new Justice League, Gunn provided a concise yet evasive response, “Sure.”
