A little bit of naughty and a little bit of nice could easily translate to a little bit of savoury and a little bit sweet. Guru By Bangkok Post lists some of the festive afternoon teas around down to get the holiday fever going.

Waldorf Astoria Bangkok

Begin the season’s celebrations with Waldorf Astoria Bangkok’s much-loved Festive Afternoon Tea, now a cherished holiday tradition. This year’s highlights include Twinkle Mille Feuille (Osetra caviar, lavash cracker, egg, sour cream), Cranberry Glow Tartlet (turkey and truffle, cranberry, Greek yoghurt sauce), Snowman Bun (steamed chestnut cream bun, foie gras, salted egg yolk), Silent Night Ball (espresso coffee mousse, orange, Cointreau cream), White Winter Bloom (Thai vanilla cream, honey mascarpone Chantilly, white chocolate snowflake), Toasted Christmas Treat (French toast-style panettone, mixed berries compote, vanilla ice cream), Christmas stollen and more. Available daily unto Jan 4. You can also opt to jazz it up a bit with two glasses of Champagne or do a takeaway Afternoon Tea gift box.

Shangri-La Bangkok

Step into a world of Enchanted Wonders at the Lobby Lounge, where the pastry elves have conjured up a delightful selection of sweet and savoury treats, featuring Foie gras and brioche, Crab salad with sweet mango, and Smoked salmon with yuzu and fresh cheese. Sweet indulgence continues with Raspberry tartlet, Chocolate log cake and an array of sweets crafted to enchant your senses. The Festive Afternoon Tea “Enchanted Wonders” is available until Jan 5.

Sindhorn Midtown Hotel Bangkok

Savour the flavours of the festive season through delightful festive dining and cocktail experiences throughout December. The Festive Afternoon Tea is being served at Sip and Co. and The Lobby Lounge. Enjoy Cranberry and orange zest and pistachio scones, Christmas spiced macarons, Mini yule log cake, Raspberry and white chocolate mousse, Gold-dusted fruit tarts and Classic gingerbread cookies. Savouries include Smoked salmon with honey mustard cream cheese, Turkey and cranberry pinwheels, Roast beef finger sandwiches, Truffle egg salad tartlets and Brie crostini with fig and honey. Paired with Araksa teas and available until Dec 31.

Park Hyatt Bangkok

Park Hyatt Bangkok invites guests to celebrate the season with its Festive Afternoon Tea at The Living Room, available until Jan 6. The tea features pastry chef Fabrizio Zarate’s sweet delights like Santa’s Hat with strawberry compote and tonka chantilly, Christmas bauble with mandarin, cinnamon jelly and honey pannacotta, and the North Star with dark chocolate ganache and almond praline. Savoury bites include Smoked salmon with persimmon and walnut tarator, and Turkey breast tartlet with remoulade. Enhance the experience with half a bottle of Champagne Bollinger. Live music performances will take place on Dec 24, 25 and 31, and Jan 1. Until Dec 31, hotel guests can take part in a special gingerbread decorating activity.

Sindhorn Kempinski Hotel Bangkok

Sindhorn Kempinski Hotel Bangkok is offering the Festive Afternoon Tea in the Lobby Lounge and accompanied by live musical performances. Treats will be served in eco-friendly containers made from husk bio-composite material and coconut fibre. A medley of sweet and savoury bites with premium tea and coffee awaits. Enjoy Cranberry cinnamon granita and plain scones and spiced cranberry scones served with mandarin curd, clotted cream, apple cinnamon jam. Indulge in Tom yum goong textures served with broth sphere on the rice cracker, Crab and lychee cannelloni, Salmon and mandarin, Coronation chicken and Smoked duck breast. Sweets include Blackberry foam, Chocolate mousse, Apple compote and Jasmine tea cream. Available until Jan 6. B100 from every afternoon tea set sold on Wednesdays goes to the Autistic Thai Foundation and Foundation for the Blind as part of The Melody of Giving Back programme.

Avani Sukhumvit Bangkok

In December and January, Avani Sukhumvit Bangkok invites guests to mark the festive season at Greenhouse Restaurant. The Season’s Log Cake returns with five flavours like strawberry shortcake, chocolate, coconut, red velvet and almond coffee. Until Jan 31. Discover the Festive Enchantment Afternoon Tea and savour a medley of Reindeer mousse, Strawberry pavlova, the signature Chocolate log cake, Pomelo salmon salad with crisp tortilla and Golden bun with BBQ pulled pork.

Aman Nai Lert Bangkok

Executive pastry chef Florian Couteau will serve the winter edition Afternoon Tea at 1872 where the flavours of the season can be enjoyed in dishes ranging from Jerusalem artichoke Potage and fig tartlet with blue cheese and white balsamic, to a festive reimagining of Mont Blanc and Black Forest small cakes. An optional Champagne pairing is also available to elevate the experience further. Available until Jan 4. Inspired by the vibrant flowers and verdant landscape of Nai Lert Park, the Afternoon Tea In Bloom (from Dec 18-21) ritual is presented in celebration of the 36th Nai Lert Flower and Garden Art Fair. For this special occasion, chef Couteau has created special delicacies that draw on local Thai flavours and the natural beauty of flowers, served alongside the hotel’s signature tea blends and a limited-edition selection of flower-inspired cocktails and refreshers curated by director of beverage and bars, Michele Montauti.

The House On Sathorn

The Festive Afternoon Tea, being served till Jan 4, offers the magic of the holidays filled with sweets and savoury itmes, from Christmas cake and Gingerbread praline to Foie gras mousse and Turkey ham pretzel sandwiches. The tea includes two pots of TWG tea or coffee, or jazz it up with two glasses of Telmont Brut Champagne or two Botanist Gin Festive Cocktails. On Dec 14, 21 and 28, the Festive Afternoon Tea Garden Party will be held, where exquisite treats will be paired with sparkling Champagne as the sounds of Hot Club Siam fill the air. Enjoy gypsy jazz rhythms that create the perfect festive atmosphere.

InterContinental Bangkok

Balcony Lounge offers a refined Festive Afternoon Tea experience complete with seasonal savouries and sweets. Live piano performances and carol singers add a charming soundtrack on select days, making it an ideal retreat for an afternoon of relaxation and celebration. Available till Jan 5. On New Year’s Eve, guests will be entertained by a live band.

Avani Ratchada Bangkok

The Wishing Tree Afternoon Tea will be offered throughout December at Metro Lounge. Savour dainty savouries and merry-bright sweets inspired by Christmas classics and your choice of premium tea or coffee.

The Tea and Tinsel Afternoon Tea will be offered until Jan 31 at Melia Chiang Mai. The tea is Japanese-inspired and each set is served with MeliĆ” Blossom or sparkling wine, and a choice of freshly brewed coffee or tea at Mai Restaurant and Bar.

Dusit Thani Bangkok

The Festive Afternoon Tea in the Grand Lobby Bar is being offered throughout December and executive pastry chef Norbert Bataillard presents handcrafted pastries and sweets inspired by the season’s elegance and paired with fine teas and mulled wine.

Anantara Siam Bangkok Hotel

A White Christmas Afternoon Tea is being served until Jan 15 at Anantara Siam’s Lobby. Enjoy delicate pastries, freshly baked scones and artisanal teas presented with a touch of holiday magic. Inspired by the royal land on which the hotel sits, each treat pays homage to Thailand’s rich cultural heritage.

Banyan Tree Bangkok

The Festive Afternoon Tea is being offered until Dec 31 at Vertigo Too. Experience the magic of the season showcasing exquisite dishes such as Turkey roulade with butternut squash and topped with Aruga caviar, alongside sweet delights highlighting Reindeer choux, Snowman macaroon and Santa cap tart. At the Lobby Lounge, the signature Roasted turkey will be on offer for takeaways.

Pullman Bangkok King Power

The ‘Christmas Celebration’ themed afternoon tea is on offer till Jan 15 at the lobby of Pullman Bangkok King Power. Indulge in a delightful collection of sweet and savoury treats served in a beautifully presented set with a charming tea pot to make every sip special.
