Dhaka, April 9 — Apparently responding to deposed Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s recent remarks, Chief Adviser’s Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam has said Allah has kept her alive for a reason – to face the trial of the century.
Allah has spared her life for a purpose: to endure the challenge of this era,” he stated, noting that during the margins of the BIMSTEC Summit, Chief Advisor Prof Muhammad Yunus informed Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi that Hasina ought to be sent back to Bangladesh.
This remains the highest priority for the transitional government, according to Alam, who posted this information on his verified Facebook account late Tuesday night (post midnight).
In her most recent comments, Hasina stated, “Allah has spared my life for a purpose,” and asserted that “the day will arrive” when individuals who are attacking Awami League members will face legal consequences.
The president of the Awami League, who fled to India on August 5 following widespread protests across the country, made these comments while engaging with family members of senior party officials during a virtual gathering.
The Press Secretary stated that she will undergo trials for the killings of 1400 individuals, with approximately 13 percent being children.
“She will be put on trial for commanding the massacres and concealing the victims’ bodies. According to information we received from our sources, representatives of her political party disclosed this shocking detail to the UN Fact-Finding Mission,” he stated.
Efforts are being made to resolve the tariff issues with the U.S., says Press Secretary
Alam stated that Hasina ought to be subjected to trials for “approximately 3,500 instances of enforced disappearances, around 3,000 extrajudicial killings, false charges levied against about six million members of the opposition, along with the atrocities committed at Shapla and following the war crimes judgment against Maulana Sayedee.”
Alam further stated that she should be subjected to trials for the theft of the millennium, during which an astounding sum of 234 billion dollars was embezzled over her almost 16-year reign.
“The preservation of our dignity and self-respect mainly depends on our efforts to return her to Bangladesh and have her stand trial,” stated the press secretary.
He stated that time and again, Latin Americans have struggled for their dignity in these battles.
“If they managed to conduct trials against some of the harshest generals and dictators, then so shall we. A single generation might not succeed, but it could still hand over the baton to the next one. Our struggle will know no bounds. This battle for our dignity will shape us,” he stated.
“Yes, Allah, the Judge and the Just One, who will ultimately dispense justice, has spared her life so she can confront justice,” stated the press secretary, further noting that the “butcher of Bengal” should stand trial for crimes against humanity.
