Could Notre Dame be entering final game with HC Marcus Freeman?

on Thursday.

But it took hardly any time at all after the Fighting Irish’s impressive victory for some to suggest that Freeman could be taking the jump to the NFL.

With his new contract, one can safely assume that the Fighting Irish significantly increased the buyout amount, making it more challenging for other colleges or NFL teams to lure him away. However, NFL owners wouldn’t have trouble paying Notre Dame whatever the new buyout amount is to hire him.

The Chicago Bears, Jacksonville Jaguars, Las Vegas Raiders, New England Patriots, New Orleans Saints, and New York Jets are all searching for a new head coach prior to the start of the 2025 season.

Freeman might be the best fit for the Bears out of those six teams.

The 2009 NFL Draft was a pivotal event in the league’s history.

It appears that Freeman never played for the Bears, and it’s unclear if he’ll be a part of the team again in the future. That being said, the bond is still intact.

Freeman definitely matches this description.

“There are going to be some head-coaching candidates that will surprise you, because we’re looking into a wider pool than ever before,” said Poles.

Could Freeman be a surprise candidate for the city of Chicago?

Even if he doesn’t become the next head coach of the Bears, it’s unlikely to be too long before he becomes the head coach of an NFL team.

Unfortunately for Notre Dame, that could happen barely a month after their College Football Playoff National Championship appearance on January 20th.
