Crypto prices continue to recover on Jan 15: BTC reclaims $97k, XRP surges 12%

The cryptocurrency market saw a significant turnaround today, with Bitcoin (BTC) rising above $97,000 after falling to a low of $89,000 earlier this week.

This bounce back has revitalized optimism among traders, who are now closely watching the U.S. Consumer Price Index (CPI) inflation data, a key event that’s expected to shape market direction in the days ahead.

The global cryptocurrency market value went up to $3.37 trillion, which is a 2.62% increase over the past 24 hours. The Fear and Greed Index stayed at 51, showing careful optimism as investors wait to see how economic conditions will play out.

Over the last 24 hours, the total volume of the cryptocurrency market was $127.53 billion, marking a 26.10% decrease. The trading volume of stablecoins came in at $116.09 billion, making up 91.03% of the market.

Bitcoin (BTC) price today

Bitcoin (BTC) recently picked up speed, trading at $97,026, rising 2.25% over the past 24 hours.

The cryptocurrency’s value fluctuated over a 24-hour period, ranging from $94,715 to $97,650.

The trading volume for the coin decreased by 23% to $55 billion.

BTC exchange-traded funds (ETFs) saw inflows of $9.7 million, led by WisdomTree’s $10 million investment.

Ethereum (ETH) price today

Ethereum (ETH) then followed the same trend, trading at $3,228 with a 2.20% hike.

ETH’s 24-hour trading range was between $3,156 and $3,254.

Trading volume for the coin dropped 40% to around $23 billion.

Exchange-traded fund inflows of $1.15 million, all coming from Bitwise Investments.

XRP and SOL current prices today

Ripple’s XRP outperformed other major cryptocurrencies, rising 12.61% to trade at $2.84, making it the top performer within the top 10.

The highest price it reached in 24 hours was $2.87, while the lowest was $2.52.

Ripple’s CEO, Brad Garlinghouse, has criticized the SEC’s approach to regulation via enforcement before the agency’s upcoming appeal hearing, which will likely determine the future course of XRP.

Solana (SOL) also performed well, rising by 2.5% to reach a value of $189.48, trading within a daily range of $185.4 to $189.94.

Top Cryptocurrency Gainers and Losers

Among the top gainers in the past 24 hours, XDC Network (XDC) showed the biggest increase, jumping up over 22% to currently trade at $0.1202.

DeXe (DEXE) soared by over 15% to $16.09, marking a significant increase. Concurrently, the trading volume skyrocketed by 100% to $32.14 million.

On the other hand, Fartcoin (FARTCOIN) suffered the biggest decline, falling about 7% to $0.9955.

Movement (MOV) and Ondo (OND) also saw declines of more than 2%.
