Practice Squad Signings

Several former Eagles players have found new opportunities on practice squads across the league. Among them is Jordan Poyer, a safety who joined the Buffalo Bills. Ainias Smith, a wide receiver, signed with the Carolina Panthers, while Trey Sermon, a running back, made his way to the Pittsburgh Steelers. Harrison Bryant and Quinton Bell also landed on the Houston Texans and Miami Dolphins rosters, respectively. Other notable additions include Josh Sills (offensive guard, Indianapolis Colts), Lew Nichols (running back, Pittsburgh Steelers), and Terrell Edmunds (linebacker, Las Vegas Raiders).

The Raiders added Albert Okwuegbunam as a tight end, while Jalen Reagor and Rick Lovato joined the Los Angeles Chargers. Will Grier, a quarterback, was signed by the Dallas Cowboys, and Kentavius Street moved to the Atlanta Falcons. Jack Stoll also joined the New Orleans Saints as a tight end.

Roster Deadline Cuts

With the deadline for finalizing 53-player rosters approaching, several players were cut or moved around. K.J. Henry and K’Von Wallace were among those released by the Cleveland Browns and New York Giants, respectively. Zach Pascal and Mario Goodrich were also let go by the Giants, with Mario Goodrich previously being cut by the Broncos.

Other cuts include Tyrese Robinson (offensive guard, Steelers), Lew Nichols (running back, Steelers), Cameron Johnston (punter, Steelers), DeAndre Carter (wide receiver, Browns), and Duke Riley (linebacker, Commanders). Julian Good-Jones (offensive lineman, Commanders), Marcus Epps (safety, Patriots), and Andre Dillard (offensive lineman, 49ers) were also released.

Injuries also played a role in roster changes. Gottlieb Ayedze (offensive lineman, Raiders), Zech McPhearson (cornerback, Jaguars), Jalen Mills (cornerback, Texans), Kevon Seymour (cornerback, Commanders), and Casey Toohill (defensive end, Texans) were all cut due to injuries. Quinton Bell (linebacker, Dolphins), Britain Covey (wide receiver, Rams), Harrison Bryant (tight end, Texans), Kentavius Street (defensive lineman, Falcons), Kendall Milton (running back, Bengals), Trey Sermon (running back, Steelers), Bruce Hector (defensive tackle, 49ers), Tyre Phillips (offensive tackle, Commanders), and Daryl Worley (cornerback, Commanders) were also released.

Other Moves and Notables

Carson Wentz had a brief but significant moment when he visited the Minnesota Vikings for a tryout and was subsequently signed by the team. Wentz has been without a team since the start of the offseason after playing with the Kansas City Chiefs in 2024.

The Cleveland Browns are making a major move by trading Kenny Pickett, a quarterback, to the Las Vegas Raiders. This comes after the Raiders lost Aidan O’Connell to a fractured wrist during the final preseason game.

Rasul Douglass signed a one-year deal with the Miami Dolphins. Meanwhile, Nate Sudfeld, a quarterback, was briefly signed by the 49ers before being released within a week.

Wide receiver Parris Campbell was placed on the Cowboys’ season-ending injured reserve list after suffering a knee injury that lingered throughout training camp. Similarly, Quez Watkins was placed on the Arizona Cardinals’ injured reserve list with an undisclosed injury.

The Houston Texans made a move by signing Jalen Mills, a former Eagle, to replace C.J. Gardner-Johnson, who went down with an injury that initially raised concerns about a potential season-ending absence. However, recent tests indicated that the injury was less severe than feared.

Washington, which has several former Eagles on its roster, saw Marcus Mariota sidelined with a strained calf. The team also placed Tyree Jackson (tight end) and Kevon Seymour (cornerback) on injured reserve with undisclosed injuries. Despite this, the Commanders added Duke Riley (linebacker), River Cracraft (wide receiver), and Daryl Worley (cornerback) since the first preseason game.

Terrell Edmunds, who spent last offseason on the Jacksonville Jaguars’ practice squad, signed with the Las Vegas Raiders a week into training camp. Isaac Seumalo, a former Eagle offensive lineman, is starting the year on the Non-Football Injury list due to a soft-tissue issue.

After a strong performance in the first preseason game, including a sack, Janarius Robinson of the Kansas City Chiefs was placed on injured reserve with a fractured foot.
