Louis Rees-Zammit has secured a contract to play for the Jacksonville Jaguars in their 2025 season lineup.

The former Welsh rugby player was on the Jaguars’ training squad for the 2024 season and travelled to London for the matches against the Chicago Bears and New England Patriots in October.

Rees-Zammit will now return to the club for the off-season training schedule with a view to making the final 53-man squad for the Jaguars.

In a statement released by the Jaguars, Rees-Zammit said: “I’m delighted to be committing to another year in Jacksonville.”

Although it was a challenging season for the team, I was satisfied with the progress I made in my own game and I’m excited about the prospect of further improving my skills and I think Jacksonville is the ideal place to do that.

Rees-Zammit made 32 appearances for Wales before announcing in January 2024 that he would be hanging up his rugby boots, and is now planning to chase his dream of playing in the American football league through its pathway for international players.
