Instead of going for a knockout blow, but he’s still able to hang with the strongest of them.

The most important play of the game didn’t count. With two minutes remaining in the fourth quarter, the referees called a foul on Spurs guard Stephon Singh as he was defending against Morant’s drive.

Morant kept driving through the paint anyway, where the 7’5″ Wembanyama was standing guard at the rim. Maybe Morant didn’t hear the whistle, because he jumped into a rim-rattling dunk over Wembanyama. Watch the play here:

I’m shaking my head at the officials for calling that foul. The matchup between Morant and Wembanyama at the rim is every bit as thrilling as it comes.

This poster shot for Morant would have been even more impressive if it had counted.

The Grizzlies defeated the Spurs, 129-115. Morant scored 21 points in the winning effort, whereas Wembanyama finished with 13 points in the losing side.
