The Journey of Sally 8N: A Musician Driven by Her Own Craft

Sally 8N, known in real life as Sally Ngandu, is a rising star in the music industry who stands out for her unique approach to creativity. Unlike many musicians who draw inspiration from personal struggles or life experiences, Sally finds her motivation in the quality and craftsmanship of every piece she releases. This mindset has been central to her growth as an artist.

Born and raised in Zimbabwe, Sally holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Economics from Great Zimbabwe University. Despite her academic background, her passion for music has always taken center stage. She believes that the drive to keep creating comes from the work itself—whether it’s recorded or not. For her, the process of crafting and finishing a song is what truly matters.

“Music is everything that brings meaning and purpose to my life,” she says. “It’s the one thing that makes me feel alive and connected to myself and others. I create music because it’s my way of sharing that connection with the universe.”

She views music as her language, her therapy, and her passion. It allows her to express emotions and thoughts that are hard to put into words. Through her work, she aims to touch hearts, spark conversations, and inspire others to feel, think, and connect. For Sally, each project is an opportunity to challenge herself, explore new sounds, and push beyond her comfort zone.

Balancing Life and Art

The music industry is demanding, and Sally understands that success requires dedication and sacrifice. She emphasizes the importance of time management, balancing practice, production, and personal life. “Managing activities has been an uphill task that I’ve faced, experienced, and now am conquering,” she explains.

Her family has played a crucial role in supporting her journey. “I’m glad that I have a supportive and wonderful family on my side. Their unwavering support helps me navigate the industry with ease.” Growing up in a family of musicians has also been a blessing. “Whenever I create something new, they are the first ones to boost my confidence, reminding me to stay true to my art and keep following my dreams.”
