Here’s why you should consider making the move to Valencia, Spain.
Ever considered picking up and moving to another country? If you could use a little help figuring out which one, the specialists at InterNations have some suggestions.
Each year, the experts from InterNations, a website that connects expats all over the world, release their Expat City Ranking, showing the top places to live for a good quality of life. The ranking is based on data from the Expat Insider 2024 survey, which asks expats everywhere to rate up to 53 things, like how satisfied they are with their new home, the cost of living, healthcare, safety, and housing, and more. It also asks expats one question, “All things considered, how happy are you with your life abroad in general?”
The top spot for people seeking a fresh start in a foreign land.
The ranking for expat cities returned to its 2022 form in 2024, with Valencia taking first place in the Expat City Ranking. Additionally, it ranked first in the Quality of Life and Personal Finance Indices, according to the team’s findings. “No respondent in Valencia (0 percent) said anything negative about the affordability of public transportation (compared to 15 percent globally), opportunities for recreational sports (compared to 11 percent), or their personal safety (compared to 8 percent). In fact, more than nine in ten expats rated these factors favorably, up to 96 percent for public transportation costs (compared to 70 percent). More than three in four expats (77 percent) are also satisfied with the general cost of living (compared to 40 percent globally) and their financial situation (compared to 54 percent).”
