Ukraine defines the conditions for a ceasefire with Russia

According to the Ukrainian President’s official website, the basis of any potential ceasefire between Ukraine and Russia must include solid security guarantees.

“There’s a clear position that the basis of any potential ceasefire must include strong security guarantees. In particular, they’re considering the possibility of involving the mechanisms of the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation as one of the security guarantees and of strengthening the Ukrainian army,” the statement reads.

At the same time, the President’s press service stressed that the start of the ceasefire should begin with the exchange of prisoners and the return of children.

“This will demonstrate Russia’s true intentions with regard to peace,” the press service added.
