Air Fryer Accordion Potatoes
This
easy recipe
has a prep time of 10 minutes and a cook time of 30-35 minutes.
The amounts here make 4 servings, however feel free to half or double depending on what you need. Depending on the size of your
air fryer
, you may need to cook the potatoes in batches.
Ingredients:
- 2 lbs golden potatoes (or another favorite)
- 1.5 tbsp olive oil
- Salt to taste
Instructions:
To get started on your accordion potatoes, you will want to peel the potatoes using a
vegetable peeler
.
While you are peeling your potatoes and cutting them, keep the ones you are not working on in a bowl of cold water. This will help keep them them from browning and help make them crispier after cooking.
After all of your potatoes are cut, rinse the potatoes under cold water and then carefully pat them dry using
kitchen towels
.
Next, you will want to slice the accordion potatoes. Cut your slices about a quarter to a half inch. The thinner they are, the crispier that they will be.
Using a cutting board, place a chopstick on either side of the potato slice, this will help hold the potatoes in place while you make thin cuts on both sides. The goal is to make thin cuts on each side of the potato, without completely cutting through.
After you cut one side of the potatoes, then flip the potato slices over and cut the other side diagonally.
Repeat this until you have made the cuts on every potato slice.
Cover the potatoes with your olive oil and season with salt. You can also add other favorite seasonings as well.
Cook your potatoes in the air fryer for 30-35 minutes at 350 degrees, or until they are golden brown. Make sure to flip them over halfway through to help them cook evenly.
