Caleb Smith: Top Texas Wide Receiver Chooses Arizona

While Arizona is in the midst of spring practice, they’re also welcoming numerous recruits from the 2026 class and later years. Among these visitors was one recruit who decided after his visit that Tucson is where he wishes to pursue his collegiate football career.

The University of Alabama has secured a pledge from a three-star wide receiver.

, becoming the fourth recruit in their 2026 signing class.


The 5-foot-8, 160-pound Smith ranks at number 735 overall in the Class of 2026 according to 247Sports. Additionally, he stands out as the nation’s 119th best wide receiver and holds the position as the 99th top talent from Texas. Currently playing football for Allen High School, he also competes on their track team as both a sprinter and long jumper. Known for his impressive speed, he clocked a 100-meter dash time of 10.6 seconds, earning him the moniker ‘Jett.’

Smith chose the University of Arizona over offers from Arkansas, Baylor, Houston, Kansas, Louisville, Mississippi State, Nebraska, Texas Tech, and Utah, among others.

He is the second wide receiver commitment for Arizona in the 2026 class, joining the 3-star in-state recruit.

Hamisi Juma

, starting with Texas. The state known as the Lone Star State significantly contributed to the 2025 class, yielding nine high school signees.
