How fast is the new Y63 Nissan Patrol?

The Y63 Nissan Patrol has launched in the USA as the Armada, and new independent performance testing has shown just how quickly the new model’s twin-turbocharged V6 engine can go.

The most powerful engine the brand has ever made available, the 3.5-litre unit produces a substantial 317kW and 700Nm – outdoing the 298kW and 560Nm produced by the soon-to-be-replaced V8 of the Y62 Patrol.

Found out when putting the Armada through its paces in America.

The site’s independent testing found the Armada accelerated from zero to 96.5km/h in 6.16 seconds. That’s a fair bit quicker than the Y62 Patrol, which takes around 7.0-7.5 seconds to complete the slightly longer 100km/h dash.

Still slated for a late 2026 rollout, word emerged this week that the model might be brought forward in Australia, with the threat of tariffs in the USA potentially clearing the way for our market.

“There’s a huge demand for the new Patrol in the Middle East and the United States,” Nissan Oceania Vice President and Managing Director, Andrew Humberstone, said to CarsGuide.

The price for our market hasn’t been confirmed yet, but indications from the US suggest the Y63 could be a ripper of a deal.

There, the entry-level Armada starts at $58,530 – matching the starting price of the outgoing model. All other variants rise by less than $3000.
