PETALILING JAYA: The Home Ministry has prohibited two books under thePrinting Presses and Publications Act of 1984, citing their potential threat topublic order as the reason.
The books include “The Goal of The Wise: The Gospel of The Riser of The Family of Mohammed” authored by Abdullah Hashem, along with “Suka Duka Perjalanan Dhul-Qarnian/Cyrus the Great and Alexander the Great,” for which an author or publishing date cannot be determined.
The ministry stated that the prohibition of the two books was officially announced on March 10 under Section 7(1) of the act, which forbids material deemed “potentially harmful to public order or public interest.”
These restriction policies outlined in the Act are primarily preventative, designed to thwart possible dangers or harms before they happen.
“At the same time, these measures aim to educate and increase public consciousness about content considered unsuitable and inappropriate for mainstream audiences,” the statement read.
In 2023, the Negeri Sembilan Religious Department asked people to hand over their copies of “Suka Duka Perjalanan Dhul-Qarnain” because it was thought to include teachings that might lead Muslims astray.
The religious department in Kelantan also confiscated copies of the book that same year, saying it contained deviant teachings.
In the meantime, “The Goal of the Wise” is said to “unveil the reality behind numerous religious misconceptions and historical distortions”.
It delves into the “concealed symbols” associated with the Tree of Immortality, uncovers an undisclosed conflict over lineage referenced in the Torah, and scrutinizes how faith in a single deity has led to numerous distinct religious practices.
