Police Officer Accused of Domestic Violence in Roswell

ROSWELL, N.M.
(KRQE) – A Roswell police officer surrendered himself to authorities on Wednesday related to an incident of domestic violence from early this month. According to the Roswell Police Department, Officer Brandon Speights was taken into custody on Wednesday after his girlfriend had contacted the police on April 5 reporting that he assaulted her two days prior.

Teen charged with fentanyl possession will remain in custody

RPD said Speights was immediately placed on administrative leave pending investigation. He was booked into the Chaves County Detention Center and is facing a battery charge.
