Rangers now leading the race to sign “quality” 22 y/o who Clement loves

A midfielder has been said to have developed an increased level of interest, it has been reported.

The Rangers kicked off 2025 in a strong fashion, leaving Celtic empty-handed with a 3-0 win at Ibrox; it should have marked a significant shift in their fortunes, but since then, they’ve experienced some difficulties against teams towards the lower end of the table.

The Hoops and Rangers have shared the spoils in their last two matches, most recently failing to inflict a defeat on Dundee despite having the upper hand on possession, and there is arguably little to no prospect of catching Celtic currently.

Replacing a manager is not a magic solution.

If Rangers are going to be in contention for the league title next season, though, it is probably the case that Clement will need to bolster his squad, and the manager has now pinpointed a key position to target in midfield.

on a pre-contract agreement.

Cameron has only a few months left on his contract, which means Rangers can sign him for nothing at the end of the season, provided Dundee fail to come to an agreement on a new deal.

Clement is apparently a big admirer of the 22-year-old, and there is apparently a good prospect that he could be on his way to Ibrox this summer, as Rangers are now at the forefront of the race to secure his signature.

He arrived at Ibrox from Aberdeen last summer, and has swiftly established himself as a key player, starting the vast majority of Scottish Premiership games this season.

In 27 appearances across all competitions, he demonstrated his versatility by playing in both attacking and defensive positions, as well as left midfield.

Cameron is being described as a “quality player” for his outstanding performances this season, and is now considered ready to elevate his skills at a larger football club.

Indeed, it’s heartening to hear that Rangers are favourites to secure his signing, and they should strive to finalise the deal at the earliest opportunity.
