It looks like your fears of being ticketed for an oversized food vehicle are not materializing – you now have the chance to drive another comically large piece of food across the country.
Planters is looking for three new drivers for its Peanuts operating team, who will be responsible for transporting a 26-foot-long peanut up and down the country’s highways. The application process is currently open and will be accepted through February 14th.
Although this giant pretzel vehicle may be over a foot shorter than the iconic hot dog shaped car, the pay for this job is substantially higher. Planters will pay drivers a salary of $45,000, which is a boost of $10,000 from previous years. The work period will run from June 2025 to June 2026. Additionally, drivers will be covered for travel expenses, receive meal stipends, and have access to health insurance that includes dental, vision, and prescription medication coverage.
To become a member of the fourth class of Peanutters, you’ll need to have a college degree. Preferably, this degree should be in a field such as communications, marketing, advertising, or public relations, or something related. You’ll also need to have a valid driver’s license. To be considered, please submit a resume along with a brief video explaining why you would be a good fit for the Peanutter team.
Super Bowl promotional stunt that failed to impress five years ago.
As a member of the Peanutter team, you’ll serve as a company representative at national parades, community events, and grand openings, promoting the brand and its product. (Don’t worry, we admit that was a pretty nutty joke, but one of the job requirements is having a knack for nut-themed wordplay, so we’re just trying to crack open your creative ideas.)
This job isn’t just about driving. While the company’s corporate communications team will handle scheduling drivers for big events, drivers will be responsible for planning their own events and routes around those bigger gigs. They’ll also need to reach out to local media outlets, like radio, TV, and online publications, to announce when the NUTmobile will be arriving in town.
You might also need to wear a costume and act out a character in this role, as mentioned in the responsibilities. And, honestly, how many other jobs allow you to dress up as a giant peanut?
