The Toyota LandCruiser Prado will introduce a new five-seat version of its GXL trim level, which should allow the second-cheapest model in the range to make the most of its boot space.
The fact is that seven-seat models aren’t as cargo-friendly as their five-seat counterparts, even with the third row folded up, due to the battery packaging for the V-Active system, which raises the third row by about 10cm.
This update provides five-seat buyers with an additional trim option, with the GXL previously only available with seven seats.

The numbers for the seven-seat version are 182L, 906L and 1829L behind the third row, second row and first row respectively, which don’t sound like vastly different numbers, but the general opinion is that the space is more practical and user-friendly in five-seat versions.
